Featherweight Fanatics (FWF)… FWF is one of the oldest and largest collector groups, with an email list of over 1000. They are specifically targeted to the Singer Model 221 Featherweight, but actually discuss virtually all types of machines. ISMACS… ISMACS is The International Sewing Machine Collectors Assn. The are world-wide, but headquartered in England. Like FWF, they tend to cover all types of machines, but do lean strongly toward the oldest ones. The email list is free, but there is a membership organization, with a quite impressive magazine, again oriented more toward very early machines. Treadle On… Well, heck, you probably know about Treadle On by the time you find this page. However, just for the record, Treadle On (TO) is a list specifically aimed at those who not only collect, but actively use, treadle and hand crank sewing machines. It is, or is meant to be, a sewing list, rather than a collecting list. However, if you are in search of advice on getting your treadle or cranker operational, these are the people who have fought the battles in the trenches, found the parts, figured out how to use the machines, and can offer advice.
