Selected Treadleonian Wisdom
Having had requests to provide someplace where some of Treadleonia's "wisdom" could be preserved, this page is being added to the Library.
The Captain
"Time is relative. It was invented only because the inhabitants of this world can't handle it if everything happens at once. In Treadleonia, on the other hand, there is no time, so everything happens when it happens, or can happen, unless it doesn't happen, in which case it will happen, or perhaps has already happened, so there is no sense in worrying about what is happening… or hasn't happened, because it probably already did happen, and you just weren't aware that it had happened."
Captain Dick
"It is so much less demanding to invent information as you need it than to worry about storing it and looking it up…"
Captain Dick
"Captain, how can you tell when you have gone over the edge"
"Grasshopper… There is no edge. All is spherical… All surfaces curve. That which has been will be. That which will be, has been. Thou art I, and I art thou, and as the universes interweave, so shall we be again."
Captain Dick
Regarding Deadlines...
"I work in my shop to relieve stress. I have only two deadlines: "Within a year" and "A Long Time". Small jobs are generally completed within a year, unless I can't seem to get to them, in which case they may take a long time. Large jobs always take a long time, unless they intrigue me, in which case I may complete them within a year. If it is necessary that you know when your job will be completed, count on a long time."
Captain Dick
"I have tried reality from time to time, and found it wanting…"
